Royal Mail and Parcelforce to merge operations

From June, a single parcel network will handle all volumes and services under one platform.

From 2nd June 2025, Royal Mail and Parcelforce will operate as a unified parcel network—bringing their operations and systems together to streamline how parcels are collected, processed, and delivered.

While the Parcelforce brand and express services will remain, the two businesses are aligning to offer a consistent experience and a shared set of products. A new combined shipping platform—Click & Drop—will give access to both Royal Mail and Parcelforce services in one place, with clearer choices, improved tracking, and simplified processes.

What does this mean for businesses?

For businesses, this means fewer systems to manage and more reliable delivery performance. A phased migration is underway, and a dedicated Royal Mail support team is in place to guide users through the changes.

We’re already reviewing how this shift will impact client campaigns, integrations and carrier setups—and we’ll continue to advise on the best way to adapt as the transition rolls out. If you haven’t yet, make sure your IT team whitelists *@royalmail.com email addresses to avoid missing key updates.

Windsor Framework – New implementation date confirmed

The UK Government has announced that Windsor Framework arrangements will now come into effect from 1 May 2025, replacing the previously expected date of 31 March.

Parcelforce will begin applying the changes from 29 April 2025. If you send goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, you’ll be required to provide additional data—based on the type of parcel movement. This can be done through integrated shipping platforms, such as Click & Drop.

If you don’t send goods to Northern Ireland, no changes are needed. But for those that do, the new requirements are essential for smooth cross-border movement.
